    <title>Watermark Learning Names 7 Trends in Business Analysis And Project Management for 2014</title>
    <link>https://www.modernanalyst.com/Resources/News/tabid/177/ID/2877/Watermark-Learning-Names-7-Trends-in-Business-Analysis-And-Project-Management-for-2014.aspx</link>
    <description>Minneapolis – Jan 28, 2014. Watermark Learning, a leading worldwide provider of Business Analysis, Project Management, Agile, and Business Process Management training, today named the seven most important new trends that it sees in the areas of business analysis and project management for 2014. This year’s trends reflect the increasing emphasis on Agile methods, the role of cloud computing, personal communications, and an increasing focus on requirements management, among others.

“Business analysts and project managers find themselves taking on increasingly important roles in organizations, as business leaders recognize their importance to the enterprise,” said Elizabeth Larson, Watermark Learning CEO. “Business Analysts and project managers need to be aware of this opportunity and recognize the influence of these new trends in shaping their roles.”
Watermark Learning’s seven trends for business analysis and project management are:

1. Continued “frothing-at-the-mouth” enthusiasm for anything “Agile”
2. The resurgence of use cases, particularly on agile projects
3. Business Analysis focus on design
4. Increased use of cloud computing and the need for business analysis in choosing cloud solutions
5. Less email, more “connecting” via synchronous audio and video tools
6. Business analysts will focus on communicating first and documenting second
7. Project managers will focus on requirements management

    <title>Watermark Learning Marks 20 Years as Business Training Provider</title>
    <link>https://www.modernanalyst.com/Resources/News/tabid/177/ID/2172/Watermark-Learning-Marks-20-Years-as-Business-Training-Provider.aspx</link>
    <description>MINNEAPOLIS – March 2 – Minneapolis-based Watermark Learning, a globally recognized professional training provider, marks the 20th anniversary of its founding this March. The firm, started by Richard Larson in 1992, has grown from a one-person operation offering a handful of IT training courses to an international institution, offering college-accredited training in business analysis, project management, and business process management.

“The training field back in the 1990s was significantly different from today’s training world. The pace of work today and the demands back on the job tend to dictate that classes and exercises be shorter today than they were in the 1990s. Back then classes were typically 5 days long, and today most of our clients need shorter classes of 2 or at most 3 days,” Larson commented.

“Now it’s typical to spend just a half hour in a workshop,” Larson added. “Technology today also permits us to do virtual training over the internet and work with people from all over the world attending our classes at the same time. That is very exciting.”

In addition to public open enrollment classes in Minneapolis, Watermark also conducts classes in Chicago, Phoenix and Toronto. Instructor-led classes are also available online through Watermark’s regularly scheduled live virtual training program.

Watermark Learning also partners with Auburn University to grant students Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Watermark classes. It offers college credit through Concordia University St. Paul for Watermark open enrollment courses offered in North America. Watermark Learning is also a PMI&#174; (Project Management Institute) Global Registered Education Provider, and a charter IIBA&#174; (International Institute of Business Analysis) Endorsed Education Provider as well as a Premier Sponsor of IIBA&#174;.

The firm’s global reach recently expanded with its business analysis courses being offered in Mexico through Servicios Educacionales en Analisis de Negocios (SEAN). Its business analysis and project management courses also are offered in South Africa through the Faculty Training Institute (FTI). Other international partners are being pursued continuously.

Watermark Learning’s ongoing growth is reflected in its recent move to new and larger quarters outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Not only does the new site provide increased space for the company’s training directors and education consultants, but it also includes a much-improved classroom environment with the latest layout and technology to provide an optimal learning venue.

Since its founding, Watermark Learning has fostered results through a unique blend of industry best practices, a practical approach to learning, and an engaging style of subject matter delivery. Students acquire retainable real-world skills that motivate and enhance their job performance, with practical and lasting results.

    <description>Watermark Learning has signed an agreement with Concordia University, St. Paul for Watermark students to earn college credit for Watermark Learning Courses in Project Management, Business Analysis, and Business Process Management.&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;
“We at Watermark are very excited about the new collaboration with Concordia University. &amp;#160;
“We are pleased we can enrich the academic experience of Concordia students through the addition of targeted, relevant training on topics of high value to employers and students alike,” said Dr. Eric LaMott, Concordia senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Watermark’s up-to-the-minute expertise aligns well with Concordia’s practitioner-focused degree programs. We appreciate the mutual benefit to both Concordia and Watermark students.”
&amp;#160;
The collaboration will apply to all Watermark Learning open-enrollment classes currently offered in Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL, Baltimore, MD, and Phoenix, AZ, as well as additional cities to be added in the future. All internet-based virtual training courses are included and offer access to Concordia credits to students around the world.&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;
As part of the agreement, Watermark will promote the collaborative courses and training to its clients and Concordia will promote the courses and training to its undergraduate, graduate and certificate students.
&amp;#160;
Watermark Learning will provide credentialed instructors for each class, and will provide Concordia with information on student attendance, assignments, and other accreditation information on which grades will be based. Watermark will also provide students with course materials and the courseware requirements necessary to receive college credit.
&amp;#160;
Concordia will register all “for credit” students, process their payments, answer student inquiries, and share registration information with Watermark. These students will have access to all Concordia resources, including the university’s library. Watermark Learning students who are not Concordia students will be enrolled as visiting students and receive a Concordia student identification number.
&amp;#160;
Concordia will also provide all “for credit” students with grades and transcripts upon request, and provide classroom space for courses held at Concordia as requested by Watermark.
